Ensane is an innovative new rap artist from San Francisco, currently based out of Houston, TX. He recently released his first full-length album entitled “The Him” which was produced by That Purple Bastard for Purple Bastard Productions. Ensane has been described as E-40 meets Common, combining his wild, outgoing personality with a more down-to-earth approach to subject matter. .... Born Earl Douglas on October 14, 1978, in San Fransico, CA, Ensane grew up being heavily influenced by Bay Area rappers like E-40 and Mac Dre but also by West Coast rap in general. Relocating to Houston, TX in the late 1990’s, he would soon experience a life-changing event with the birth of his son Atreyu Douglas on March 30, 2004. Although he had been dabbling in rap since High School, it was only after his son’s birth that Ensane decided to really get serious about rapping and begin to build a musical legacy that his son could be proud of.
JOn Black is an MC from San Diego, Ca with witty lyrics, a wide range of sonically-astounding rhyme patterns, and a passion for creating music enjoyed by mainstream rap fans, and hip-hop purists alike. JOn Black became versed in music from listening to his mother's oldies tapes, featuring artists like The Stylistics, The Delphonics and many more. As a child he transferred frequently between Sacramento, Ca, and San Diego, Ca, which exposed him to various styles of music. As he got older he began to delve into Rap and R&B. While an avid fan of many genres, JOn Black didn't begin writing or producing any music until the age of 16. At 16 he returned to San Diego, more specifically the gang-infested streets of "Southeast Daygo." Maturing in "The Southeast" exposed him to a much grittier side of life than he had previously known and the lessons it has taught him can be heard throughout his music.
In 2010 The Killafornianz were introduced to each other through mutual friend ThePurpleBastard at a show both were performing at. Both Mc's decided to collaborate on a single titled "There He Goes." The two met again weeks later at JOn Black's home studio to begin recording. The chemistry in the studio between the two Mc's was so compelling that they decided to expand the single song to an EP. After weeks of work and several songs completed they decided to expand the EP to an Album in hopes of exhausting the seemingly never ending wellspring of ideas both had. The results of 5 months of work is presented in the form of the album The Killafornianz. The album contains lyrics focused on reality, family, struggle, success, friends, and the treachery of the streets as well as the underground music scene. With a combination of both "organic" as well as sampled beats, this album harkens back to the glory days of Hip-Hop and both Mc's strive to bring back to Hip-Hop what has been sorely lacking in the last decade. The Killafornianz invite you to take a trip to the West Side floating on lush soul samples, while clinging tightly to blaring synths and head-pounding drums! As Ensane says "Here I am cold world/I hope you're ready for me!" Stay Tuned.
